Epsom Salts: Benefits That Go Beyond Pampering

Many buy bath bombs as a way of pampering themselves.  But there are health benefits to using bath bombs that contain Epsom salts.

Epsom salts are a mineral originally found & mined from natural springs in England.   In water, it breaks down into magnesium and sulfate.  Many believe that when you soak in an Epsom salt bath, these get absorbed by your skin and help to reduce swelling, relieve aches, and reduce itching & skin irritations.  In fact, people have been using Epsom salts for these benefits since the 17th century.

Currently, Epsom salts are used as a home treatment for many ailments, including:

  • Arthritis pain & swelling

  • Tired, swollen feet
